Yesterday I told you why you should stay away from the top pay keywords for Adsense. I guess calling them that is actually a little misleading as most people (the millions I referred to) are making next to nothing from these keywords and they are spending a lot of time chasing them.
In the comments to yesterday’s post Mark asked whether the right way would be to target the high paying keywords that had very little traffic as opposed to the high paying ones that have loads of traffic like “life insurance”, “mesothelioma” and “injury lawyer”.

It is a sad truth that most people trying to make money online fail in their attempt. I don’t think anyone has the exact numbers but I’ve read that it is about 90-95% that eventually fails. I think it is so sad because making money online isn’t really that difficult and I would argue that most people already have the required skills or will be able to learn what to do fairly quickly.

Today’s post is inspired by a post I read over at Dumb Little Man about how to use time wisely. Lauren lists a few simple things that you can do (or stop doing) to use your time in a better way. I fully agree with Lauren’s points but that is not what I want to talk about.

It hurts me to see people struggle financially and especially those that are close to retirement or the ones that are already retired. I feel that everyone should be able to retire as early as possible as well as with a financial situation that will keep them safe no matter what the economic situation of the world might throw at them. Unfortunately for most people this is not the case.

Just like I told you yesterday there are two things that are required to improve your search engine ranking. The first (and most important) thing is to get links to your website and the second thing you will want is a plan for doing it. Linkbuilding is an ongoing process and it is not something that you will want to rush because it will most likely backfire on you.
Getting links to a brand new website will have to look natural to the search engines and that is why I tell you to not try to rush things. Yesterday I talked about the basics of getting better ranking with incoming links and I said that I found that internal linking wasn’t as important as the incoming links. Some of my readers feel strongly about internal links and I would just like to point out that I AM NOT saying that internal linking isn’t beneficial to a site.
What I AM saying is that internal linking is “just” a way to pass “link strength” around to benefit more pages on a site. Internal linking DOES NOT create additional strength to a site as a whole but INCOMING LINKS DOES. If you read my post yesterday you will find that I see article marketing as a very important first step to start achieving higher search engine rankings. I especially find it to be an effective way when you are just starting out with your first website but also if you have been building several websites.
