Article distribution is no doubt one the best ways to get traffic, backlins and SE rankings. The real problem many times is the mistake number one. To be consistent with this marketing method you'll need a lot of time or budget to hire good writers.

That is true. It won't work for traffic generation, but it will work for linkbuilding which in the end will give you better ranking and therefore more traffic. So I would still encourage you to use that approach but just not for direct traffic.

Hi Mikael,
but how can this work for traffic generation? The content of the atricles have to be written in english - I assume. But people searching for something, normally use the search results in their native language. Therefore I'm sceptical, if it really works that good in a foreign language than in english language.

Juergen, who says that you need a German directory? You can just use the English directories that will accept linking to a foreign website.

Yes, I was talking about was the issue following through.

Maybe it's a little because in german language it is hard to find a strong article directory, since most of them lost their stength in the last month'.

Juergen, mistake number 1 is about following through right? :)

As for the 60 articles I could do it several ways depending on what I wanted. If I am only looking for backlinks I would distribute them all over the place (all articles on several sites).

If I were only looking for traffic I would only submit the articles to the larger sites. Most small article directories will not bring you any traffic.

Hello Mikael,

when looking to your 3 mistakes i see that I already matched number one... ;-(
Main reason might be that I used it more for backlink ceation than as an instrument of traffic generation.

If you write the 60+ articles, do you distribute them to several article directories or do you use only the strongest ones with the highest benefit to a quick and good ranking of the article?

Hi Sinela,

Submission tools like the two you mention are there for a reason and it is not to drive traffic directly (for the most part). Instead they will help you get incoming links to your site and thereby (over time) start to rank better in the search engines and therefore attract more targeted organic traffic.

Both procedures work but for two different reasons. I would not say that these tools are wrong to you but just as with the article marketing I have explained above you must know how to use them in the right way for them to be effective.

Hi,

The subject of this post it is very attracting! And the 3 mistakes are very well picked ...

But I wander...what about submitters software like Article Post Robot and the recent Article Mass Control? It seams that these software spin the same article and after that it submit to a great number of article directories.

So, will this be effective? Will this help on driving traffic to your site? Or are you going to call this mistake number 4?

Best wishes,

Sinela

Geoff, normally that is the way I would do it as well. One link for the homepage and one for deeplinking. Another option is one for the money site and one link to one of the other sites linking into your money site (to boost that sites strength).
