Don’t Use Translator Plugin If You Want to Make Money with Adsense
I recently read a post from Ian where he explains why using the Global Translator Plugin for added traffic can be an easy solution to get more visitors to your site. What is does is basically to use Google’s automated translator to translate every post you make into a number of different languages. This sound like a great solution and it is also easy to implement as Ian also describes. So if you are looking for free translation and a rather easy way to boost traffic then you should probably look into the plugin.
Now I have also used the plugin on several sites and besides the fact that the translation is of a mediocre standard… hey what can you expect for automated solutions… is has a few other disadvantages and especially if you’re trying to make money with Adsense on your site.
The problem is that Google will pay you for the amount and quality of traffic that you send to advertisers. I talked about this in my post Make More Money with Each Adsense Click a couple of days ago. But when using the Global Translator plugin you are providing mediocre translated content which in return will also attract a poorer quality of traffic and in return provide you with a lower payment per Adsense click. If your traffic quality turns really bad you will even risk being smart priced, meaning that you are going to be paid far less that you ought to be.
I personally learned this the hard way but I have found that I am not the only one that has had that problem when using the translator plugin. Besides that I have also stumbled on a post that talks about the Global Translator violating the Adsense rules that you accept following when signing up for Adsense. So you are not only risking being smart priced (which will affect all sites you have and not just the one site) but you’re also risking losing your Adsense account and all earnings you have made. So my advice to you is that if you are trying to make money with Google Adsense then you are better off finding other ways to attract traffic instead of the translator plugin.
