Finally a Profitable Way to Use Twitter

By Mikael | 347 views

Until today I have had very little understanding of what use one might have of Twitter in the sense of improving and expanding the business that you’re building. There are thousands (and probably millions) of people using Twitter as a way of communicating with friends (and everybody else that want to listen).

I am not against this at all since interaction and relationship building is definitely an important part of being part of the ”online world”. The problem I have seen is that many people are spending hours and hours Twittering, Surfing around Facebook and similar social services. However way you look at it, very little (if any) of the time spent is very productive in terms of building your online business.

Before I move on I would like to share this video with you. It is quite ammusing (unless you’re a Twitterholic) :)

Twitter as a Viral Tool

Yesterday David Risley wrote a brilliant piece on how we’re seeing Internet marketers using Twitter as a tool to get their landing pages and free offers to take on a viral effect and start a life on their own.

I highly encourage you to go and read his article. Especially if you’re using landing pages and bonus offers to build your email lists.

The fun part is that I have seen this method used on several opt-in pages but I have never thought about the viral effect that it could have. If only your bonus offer for re-tweeting the optin page is good enough you can reach thousands and thousands of people with very little effort.

To Your Success,
Mikael

It all depends what they have on offer. I’ve looked at a couple of offers that were tweeted but never re-tweeted them because they were dismal. I wonder what percentage of tweets reach their intended?

I have no idea but I still think it is a good idea. After all you have given your own email away to get the first free product and you would think that if you were interested so would some of your followers be and therefore it makes sense.

But you definitely have to offer 2 great free products for it to work.

I’m still not sold on Twitter. I know a lot of people use it but the ones that seem to promote it the most are the ones that have their own agenda.

So true. I’m not planning on using Twitter but I am planning on using the “re-tweet” feature on my thank-you page for the free offer. Even if it will just become partially viral it will be worth it.

Well, obviously there is no harm in trying. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you ;)
