Most People Lack the Right Mindset to Make Money Online

By Mikael | 644 views

Lack of the right mindsetIt is a sad truth that most people trying to make money online fail in their attempt. I don’t think anyone has the exact numbers but I’ve read that it is about 90-95% that eventually fails. I think it is so sad because making money online isn’t really that difficult and I would argue that most people already have the required skills or will be able to learn what to do fairly quickly.

If you have been following the latest series of post I’ve written about what is required to make good money with Adsense then you’ll most likely agree that it doesn’t sound that difficult and since I have explained what to do (and what not to do) you can’t even use the excuse that you don’t know because now you do. If you’re in doubt please feel free to ask me questions as I will gladly help you get going.

One of my biggest pleasures in life is to help other people and especially with making money from different online ventures. There are literally thousands of ways that can work and the series about making money with Adsense is only one of the many that I’ll be sharing with you.

But why do people fail?

To be truthfully honest with you I will argue that it has absolutely nothing to do with WHAT needs to be done. The biggest problem is that most people don’t have the right mindset.

You CAN’T succeed over night and you never will. Nobody that has ever achieved anything great did it in a flash. Instead they spent months and years learning, preparing, doing and finally achieving. I’m sorry to say this but you’re no different!

When I talk about “the right mindset” I am talking about being realistic and honest about what you want and the price you will have to pay to get there. Sure everyone wants to be a millionaire but very few people are ready to pay the price that it takes to become a millionaire. It will require time away from your family, working long hours, stop watching excess amounts of television and so on.

So what I believe it comes down to is not that 90-95% of the people wanting to make money online fail but in reality that 90-95% never really do what it takes. Time, effort and consistency are required and most people trying something out online might give it a week or two and that is it. No wonder they never make it.

I’ve been there myself so I know how it feels to work weeks and even months trying to make it but without anything major happening. It can be truly frustrating but that is where the right mindset needs to kick in. If you work with the certainty that you WILL make it no matter what happens or how long it takes you WILL eventually make it.

But before finishing off let me ask you this question:

Do you feel that I am dead wrong or that there are other more important things keeping you from making the money online that you want?

Please share what you feel in the comments below.

To Your Success,
Mikael

Mikael,

I certainly don’t think that you are wrong, not at all.

Indeed, I would have thought that making any form of money online would have required both a deliberate approach backed up by a consistent level of effort over a sustained time period.

Of those who try to make money online, I wonder what percentage actually take the time to ever produce even a simple written plan of how they intend to go about it.

Hi Andrew, I don’t know the numbers but I am pretty sure that very few plan anything but I would also say that even if they didn’t plan they would still be better of doing SOMETHING instead of just planning and then doing NOTHING :)

Mikael, I agree that the wrong mindset plays a big role in online failures. Too many people go in with the expectation of being an instant success…the think they’ll post a few blog entries and the cash will come pouring in. Doesn’t work that way I’m afraid. It takes work.

Hi Mike, why do you think that is? I mean that people think that they can be a success with very little effort? I have my own guesses but I would like to hear yours.
