Are You Keeping Yourself From Being Successful Online?

By Mikael | 1,139 views

Today I want to talk about a subject that I had been struggling with for years when I started out online but over time I have come to avoid doing the things that would keep me from becoming successful.

In the free 9 Money Making Mistakes report I talk about a lot of these things in depth but for now I would just like to take one of them and elaborate a little on it because it was when I once read what someone else has written that I realized that I was doing that very same thing to myself.

But first please answer me this question:

Are you at the point in your online business where you are making the amount of money you want, have the lifestyle and free time you want?

For most people trying to make money online the answer to that question is a definite “NO”.

There can be many reasons for not being where you want to be but some of the things that I most often hear are reasons such as:

- not enough traffic coming to my site
- visitors are not converting and making me money
- there is not enough time to get things done
- being stuck at a certain point and not knowing how to move on

I don’t know what might be keeping you from the success that you want with your online business but I know that I have tried all of the 4 mentioned above (and then some).

So what do you do?

How do you find the solution?

The most popular way is to complain (or make excuses) about it and keep doing what you’re doing. Not only will you feel worse every time you complain about it and people will also lose faith in your project but you will also keep getting the same results by doing what you have always been doing.

You have probably heard the quote before:

“The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
— Albert Einstein

Now I am not calling you stupid or anything because I have done these very same mistakes so many times that I feel stupid even admitting it but I think it is something that lies in human nature (but what do I know??) :)

So What Is The Solution To This?

Since we have now found that doing the same thing over and over is NOT the solution to getting different and better results, what would then be a smart way to change it?

I suggest (because it has worked for me) that you take your ONE SINGLE BIGGEST PROBLEM… (I’m writing in CAPS because you can try to take all of your problems at once, become overwhelmed and fail drastically and that is definitely not what you want to do)… and find someone that doesn’t have that problem but are successfully doing exactly what you want to be doing.

If for instance you have a small niche site that is only getting 30 visitors a day and you find that getting more traffic is your biggest problem, then find someone online that has proven to be able to get the amount of visitors to their small niche site. Then contact them by phone, email or in person. Even snail mail can work wonders :)

Ask them how they did it…. LISTEN… and then ACT upon the information they give you.

I know it sounds very simple but that is because it IS!

Unfortunately most (me included) might get to the point where they would find someone that had a solution to the problem, buy (or get) the solution from them and then go back only to do what they have been doing all along and not using the information.

Why I have done that so many times I do not know but I did… Maybe you have tried that too?

The point is that it doesn’t really matter what or why you did that in the past but rather what you will decide to do from today! Will you take that one major problem, find someone that has the solution, listen and act upon it or will you just keep doing what you’ve been doing all along?

The choice is individual but at least now you’re aware of where it will take you either way.

To Your Success,
Mikael

LOL I think that is probably the number one reason people are not getting the results they could get, not acting on what they already know but always looking out for the next best thing. Almost as if it were an addiction.

Worst even is that they will start calling the product they have bought a scam, because it “is not working” … right … they arent working themselves!

Right on Mirjam, totally forgot about the calling out the product as scam :)

LOL, wrote a post about just that the other day, really get´s on my nerves to see people left and right calling all sorts of stuff a scam, without actually having given the product a real go.

I guess it is just easier to blame a product than blaming yourself ;)

That’s for sure. Just like people on a diet :)
