Being Structured Brings Efficiency And Results

By Mikael | 1,102 views

If you have been wondering why I haven’t been posting in the last week or so it has nothing to do with not working as much as I usually do but rather the exact opposite. Through TKA I am now even more structured in my approach to my online business and because of this structure I’ve been able to get a lot more done in a short amount of time because I constantly know what to do next. Exciting but also exhausting at the same time.

We humans have different preferences and methods of working effectively and what might be the right choice for some will be totally inappropriate for others. There is no right or wrong way but in the end it is the results that count and they are often easy to measure and compare.

But let me share a little with you about what I have been doing for the last 6 days.

As you might already know I have a few people from the Philippines helping me out in my business and besides what I have been doing, they have also been working focused on the tasks that I have given them. As a group we are currently building one new website per week, while improving and expanding 6 other websites at the same time.

On top of that I am currently running a test of Unique Article Wizard (UAW) on another website in order to getter a better view of how and what benefits it can provide to a website where it is the only linkbuilding applied.

When the day is done I will normally spend 1-2 hours listening or watching different training seminars or podcasts to make sure that I stay focused and on top of my area of business.

You can probably imagine that doing all of these things at the same time and being the one that is coordinating everyone’s efforts and make sure that everything gets done in the right sequence and the right way will require strict structure.

Mark and Court at TKA have some great ideas on how to manage linkbuilding in a structured way in an Excel sheet. Their method beats the one I used beforehand and I have therefore instantly adopted their methods and I must say that it has made everything easier and given me a better overview of the businesses. Being a visual person having everything in a sheet just makes it so much better.

What have you been doing for the last 6 days?

To Your Success,
Mikael

P.S. Oh… and I almost forgot that I managed to get a business plan draft finished as part of Nicolas Prudhon’s Advanced SEO Mastery Course also.

Hi Michael,

After reading your post I thought of sharing what I did in last 6 days too.

Well for the last 6 days I’ve wrote 5 pages for my new website.
This is my first website which I started all by myself.
The first steps are always hard even if later they seem very easy.

I also finished my business plan draft from Nicolas Advanced SEO Program.

And finally, is good that I can share this with somebody.
Honestly I had an intense week and I needed to share this with somebody.

Thanks,
Ion

Hi Ion, it is good to hear that you got your first website going and that you finished your business plan. I can definitely be a great motivator to be able to share what you have done and what you plan to do with other people. I can hold you accountable and therefore more productive.

Ooopss seems like I missed something in customizing my site. What is this under my first comment? “Ion’s last blog is Hello world!”

I’m guessing that the problem is that you have created “pages” and not “posts”. You need to do posts if you want it to show up in the commentluv link.

This is right, I created pages. I didn’t know I have to disable comment luv.

Again learning doing mistakes. :)

You don’t have to do anything with “commentluv”. You don’t have it installed :)

What you need to do is take all of your pages and copy/paste them into posts and then delete the pages (so you won’t have both pages and posts saying the same thing).

Yup, we learn by doing :D

What if I want the site to look more like a site and not a blog? Don’t you think for a website page is better?

That is a personal choice. There is no right or wrong in that.

Over the last 6 days since reading your last post about being focused I’ve done exactly that. Although I registered the domain and put up a holding page for my next venture, I’ve dedicated my thoughts and time to my current project. I’ve spoken with friends about how best to optimise what I’m doing and have actively put that into practice.

It feels good.

It’s actually made rather a difference because I’m single mindedly trying to finish (is anything ever really finished??) this one project faster than had I been flitting between many.

That is awesome Matt. Being focused can make you accomplish things you never would have thought you could in very little time. I’m sure it is going to bare fruit for you.

Good to see you working hard. Over the past 6 days, I been working on my blog, my 2 sites promoting GDI, and I have been building my mailing list through my blog and landing page. I also been blog commenting. Got to get back into the groove of blog commenting a ton per day.

Hi Deneil,

Haven’t heard from you in a long time. Sounds great that everything is working out and you’re taking massive action!

Hi Mikael,

In the past 6 days, I’ve finished one niche site and started outsourcing the writing of articles to help build links to it. Funny, I’m also planning on testing the effectiveness of UAW on one of my sites. I’d be interested in comparing results :)

I’m starting to use M&C’s excel sheet as well. When everything is clearly laid out like that it’s hard to make excuses of not knowing what to do next :)

Hi Geoff. That’s great!

Yes that Excel sheet is really powerful and as you say: “there are no excuses now” :D

Geoff, Mikael,

What is the Excel sheet that you’re both referring to?

Matt, the Excel sheet is part of the kwa program that I mentioned here.
