The first (and most important) thing is to get links to your website and the second thing you will want is a plan for doing it. Linkbuilding is an ongoing process and it is not something that you will want to rush because it will most likely backfire on you. Getting links to a brand new website will have to look natural to the search engines and that is why I tell you to not try to rush things. It you go out and buy some linking scheme that promises you 10,000 links in a few days I can promise you that it will hurt your site. It is not natural and the search engines will know that.
