There are thousands (and probably millions) of people using Twitter as a way of communicating with friends (and everybody else that want to listen). I am not against this at all since interaction and relationship building is definitely an important part of being part of the ”online world”. The problem I have seen is that many people are spending hours and hours Twittering, Surfing around Facebook and similar social services.
