I will write a post, and then after I have finished I will select certain words from the post that I think will make good search engine fodder and they become my keywords. The process takes probably less than thirty seconds. Once done I cease to worry about whether or not I made the right choice as it was the content of the post that mattered and not the keyword selection. People are actually selling them you know and they are often not that expensive. Truth is that it isn't. I love learning about the ways of doing things but implementing them isn't all that important. Truth be told, blogging for me has to be fun, and doing all the keyword search and all that stuff would simply take the fun out of it. I know some people online who strive for that that part of marketing, but it's not for me. Still, I thank you for all the ideas, and I'm sure it won't go to waste as there will be other who will read this post that can make good use of it. I've tried the "working on multiple websites" approach and I agree... you just don't have the time to do that. But what has worked for me is to focus. Take the best site and run with it. Spend all your time working on that site until it's income will enable you to outsource the work to someone else (you can get a full time employee overseas for as little as $300-$400 per month). If you plan your day and your week and follow through (skip TV for a few weeks or months.... yes it IS possible) you'll soon see how things will grow by themselves because you'll then have someone else spend +160 hours a month expanding it. If you can spare the $300-$400 now you can outsource immediately. I completely understand (been there done that). Then I have a family which also requires some of my time. Then there are the 7 blogs plus other sites that I work on when I can. Things have changed recently that means I have to spend more time on the business as I can't afford to let that go astray as it is the main bread winner. If all I had to worry about was the blog and it's marketing then yes I would take the time for keyword research and such, but as things lie that is the least important thing on my daily schedule of things that I have to get done.
