Why Do You Want to Know How to Retire Early?
Being able to retire early is a dream for a lot of people but the sad truth is that very few people actually ever get to a point where they are able to retire before the age of 60-65. There are many reasons why most people never make it but I see two reasons that are causing most of the problems.
The first reason I see is that there are SO much misinformation floating around in all kinds of media. You’ll watch financial TV shows telling you all kinds of things that might sound reasonable but it can in fact actually have the opposite effect of what is being promised. You can find online financial news websites like CNN Money that will tell you to “save, save, save”, “live less than large” and “bank your extra income”. What a load of c*** to tell people.
I’ll admit that you might be able to retire 5 or 10 years earlier but on the flip side you have been living 50 years saving and not enjoying life as much as you could have and you’ll still not be banking a fortune that will let you do all the things you have been postponing all your life.
The way to retire early is through proper planning and the right investment and cash flow strategies, but before you ever get to that there is one thing that is important to think about before you start the planning. You need to paint a clear picture of why it is that you want to retire early and what you’ll want to do when you’re retired.
I believe that a lot of people want to retire early because they do not want to work anymore and that the reason for that is not that they are lazy but rather that they don’t like their job. So in reality the issue is not really about wanting to retire but rather to find a job that you would love to get out of bed to go do every day. Does that sound like something you might be experiencing? I know that I have had jobs where I couldn’t drag myself out of bed because the job was to unfulfilling and boring. That will definitely get you thinking of early retirement.
But instead of retiring I start looking for a job that I would enjoy doing. I found it and suddenly everything changed for the better. And that brings me to the second reason that most people fail at retiring early:
No Enough Action
You can wish all you want but if you don’t go do something you’ll never change anything. For change to happen it requires action and planning. Planning will take you there faster but it is the action part that does the work. Planning without action is worthless while action without planning will get you started (but it might take a little longer to get there).
Personally I have made rapid changes, planned carefully and are taking massive action towards not only retiring early but also becoming a very rich man. I’m not sure that I’ll ever really retire because I love what I do so much that I don’t really consider it work. And if you’re not “working” I guess you can’t really “retire”.
But let me ask you this to finish off. Are you looking for ways to retire early because you hate going to work every day and hate your job, or is there another reason for it? I would love to hear from you in the comments.
To Your Success,
Mikael

“… not really about wanting to retire but rather to find a job that you would love to get out of bed to go do every day” what a real quote!
This post depicts the reality. The true retirement is what we enjoy with our family in the evening hours after enjoying the day’s work. There is no full time retirement for the persons who are enjoying their job. Full time retirement leads to more tension since idle mind breeds depression. – Mike

Hey Mike.
What “true retirement” is will always be debatable because we all have different needs and wants. It’s just like the taste of food or what kinds of movies you like. It is different for everyone.
For some family is important, for others building something is the thing and for some it is about making the world a better place. What it is is not important but know what it is that you want is the key.
If you like your job, great! If you don’t like working for someone else, don’t! I know it sounds simple but basically that is all there is to it.

I dont want to sound defeatist, but i do think its important to have a look at your situation from different angles. often people get depressed about things they dont need to, you can look at what your job does offer you, what you do like about it, not what you cant change about it but what you can do to make your goals and ambitions a reality within what you do. obviously, there are sometimes when it just sucks and getting out is the best option. lol but i still dont think i know anyone who has ever truly retired, people tend to find ways of keeping busy.

Most people consider “retiring” is like not going to work anymore and just go to fishing almost everyday. For me I believe retiring is having enough money to not work anymore. This also include money and investments for your children as well.

I want to retire early so I can spend more time with loved ones and not worry about money, we’re not going to be here forever.

Retiring early is great, who wants to work forever for someone else. Doing so with enough income to enjoy a good life is the hard part. Though not impossible, its something that requires planning. And if your a business owner or entrepreneur you never really want to retire from making money.
