Why Even Small Consistent Efforts Can Bring Huge Results
It hurts me to see people struggle financially and especially those that are close to retirement or the ones that are already retired. I feel that everyone should be able to retire as early as possible as well as with a financial situation that will keep them safe no matter what the economic situation of the world might throw at them. Unfortunately for most people this is not the case.
The saddest thing is actually not that people are struggling and heading towards disaster but rather the fact that they could turn it all around with very small changes applied consistently on a daily basis but most people won’t even try.
Humans are in many ways a frustrating but also a very fascinating species. Even obvious small changes could turn things around but still nothing happens for the most part. It’s easier to lie on the couch and watch some TV than it is to get up and do something.
But you are here because you are different
You are here because you are searching for something and searching is the first step towards making a change for the better. You’ll find great things that can help you move forward and you’ll find garbage (not on this site though) that you’ll need to learn to tune out. It will take practice but practice makes perfect!
I would like to give you an example of how a simple change can actually have a significant impact in the long run. As you know I am a big advocate of making money with Adsense on websites because it is not only easy to get started if you’re brand new to the game but you are actually able to make some significant incomes that can make you live the life you have always dreamt of.
Let us start by going for the small things that can give you huge results if applied consistently. If you don’t know how to get a domain and setup a website I suggest that you start out by downloading my free ebook (see the top left sidebar). I’ll walk you through all the steps to take.
If you’re slow it might take you one week to get a site up and ready to go. When I say a week that might be something like 3-4 hours at the most! After that you’ll need to write some content and if you have very little time we can say that you’ll only be able to get 3 articles done per week. That is still going to be more than 150 articles in one year.
If you have followed the plan you’ll probably be making at least $5 dollars per day with Adsense. I know it doesn’t sound like much but HEY… you didn’t do much work either did you?
If that is all you wanted to do you could stop right there. From there you would have to do minimal work (maybe one or two articles a month tops) to keep the ball rolling. That means that for something like 1-2 hours a month you would have created a “passive” income of 5×365 = $1,825 a year.
It’s not a fortune but imagine that you did nothing but put them into some secure investment that would pay you something like 5% per year. If you’re 20 years old now then you would have about $233,000 in saving when you hit the age 60 and about $403,000 when you hit the age 70.
Invest a few hours a week for the first year and then only about one hour per month for the rest of your life (seriously this is peanuts – you’re probably spending more time scratching your ***). Do you think something like $200-400,000 would make a difference when you’re retired? For most it would.
You don’t have to stop with just the one site or only working one hour per month but all I am trying to show you is that very little effort applied over a long period of time can truly produce incredible results but you need to take action. Without action nothing happen so start now. If you don’t know how to get started then opt-in and get my free ebook.
To Your Success,
Mikael

Mikael,
Another side effect of the accumulative nature of passive income as once you promote affiliate product via article – that link is on the web and clicked long after you posted it! I get sales from products that I promoted quite a while back and to my shame – not even sure HOW I promoted them!
back in early days I didn’t pay enough attention to tracking but the sales keep coming in

Alex, yes that is definitely another way to make passive income. It works best if you’re promoting products that will not go out of stock though. 50 years is a long time for a product to last

Hi Mikael,
I’m curious why you say you’d have to keep writing one or two articles a month to keep the ball rolling for for an already established site. Would your SE rankings gradually degrade over time if you didn’t keep writing articles and getting new links to your site? I have not experienced this myself so far.

Hi Geoff,
In one word “yes”
Google favors “new” information and then you’ll also have to count in that you’re competitors are not doing nothing while you are

Thanks Mikael, that makes perfect sense. So when you mentioned writing 150 articles in one year and 1-2 articles per month after your site is established are you talking about articles for content on your site or articles to submit to article directories (for the backlinks)?

Geoff, that is a great question and I can see that I didn’t explain that in the post. I would suggest that you do a combination of posts to your site and post that will link to your site. Both are important to keep ranking your site.

Hi Benjamin,
Things take time and as I am sure you know, 6 months isn’t very long. Making money online is no different from a normal educational process. It can take years. But congratulations on your sale.
